Scottish RE teacher accused of attempting to meet teen girl for sex struck off
A SCOTS RE teacher was fired after his claims he tried to meet a 14-year-old girl to find out about child sex surgery were deemed “just unbelievable.”
Iain Parkinson was struck off today after the GTCS hearing panel found him unfit to teach for attempting to meet a 14-year-old for sexual activity at a Travelodge in Falkirk.
Mr Parkinson has claimed he was trying to catch a couple in an undercover operation – but his claims were deemed “simply unbelievable” by Andrew Long, chairman of the GTCS.
Speaking today, Arthur Stewart, head of the GTCS panel, said: “The panel’s decision is that we deem Mr. Parkinson unfit to teach.
“As the teacher has been deemed unfit to teach, his name will be removed from the teaching register.
“I thank all parties involved, it has been a long week.”
The 56-year-old had struck up a conversation on the Fab Swingers website with a woman known as Lisa Brown and her partner Kev.
Unbeknownst to Mr. Parkinson, Lisa and Kev were in fact two undercover police officers.
He claims he “joined in nasty discussions” about an underage girl about whether there were “really people doing these horrible things.”
Mr. Parkinson, who lives Corstorphin, Edinburgh, said he did not report the messages to police because he “did not want to break the blanket”.
The old one Kirkcaldy A high school teacher was arrested in a Travelodge in Falkirk in May 2016 after showing up for a “threesome” with condoms.
However, the charges against him were dropped in 2017 after a judge found him the victim of entrapment.
Addressing the panel yesterday, Andrew Long, Chairman of the GTCS said: “It just doesn’t make sense as a story.
“He referred to sexual activity with a 14 year old girl and bestiality with a dog.
“He then went to Travel Lodge in Falkirk to have sex with a 14 year old girl.
Long continued, “He explained clearly and graphically what he wanted to do to the 14-year-old.
“Mr. Parkinson’s version of events is just amazing, it doesn’t make sense.
“Mr. Parkinson tells a story about conducting an undercover operation to protect a child, but there is simply no evidence of that.
“He launches into his own antics as if he were some sort of vigilante.
“Mr. Parkinson had the opportunity to quit.
“Instead, he told the person on the chat that he wanted to stick his c * in their girls a *.
“It just doesn’t make sense.
“Mr. Parkinson has shown himself to be utterly incapable of honesty. He is an adulterous man who exchanges sex with people online.
Darren Wapplington, representative of the NASUWT teachers’ union, who represented Mr Parkinson in response, said: “He has always presented an honest history of events.
“There is no record of previous concerns in his long and distinguished career.
“Mr. Parkinson’s intention was not to engage in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.”
Despite this, the jury found him unable to continue teaching and struck him off the teaching register.
