PS5 stock UK – live: Latest console replenishment news from Smyths, Argos, Very, BT and more
PS5 hits 1 million UK sales in record time
Update: PS5 could drop to Very, EE and Currys PC World tomorrow. Read on for more information.
The PS5 launched in November 2020, but supply issues and a global semiconductor shortage have slowed production of Sony’s next-gen console. New stock is always hard to find, and when it does show up, the PS5 sells out almost instantly.
September was a mixed bag for PS5 restocking, but was still much better than June and July. While not as good as in August, we still saw some big drops at Very, Smyths Toys, BT, EE, Argos, Amazon, and Game. We had 10 drops to complete the month of September. The question now is: will October kick off with a bang? Twice now, AO.com has given up small amounts of inventory this month. This week we saw a drop at BT and a drop in store at Smyths Toys.
If you’re still looking for a PS5, you’ve come to the right place. Our liveblog is here to give you the latest information on Playstation 5 restockings from all major UK retailers, both online and in store, as well as providing details on release rumors, the latest PS5 games and accessories to buy.

A recap of today’s PS5 replenishment events
Well we have come to the end of another day of PS5 stock monitoring and we have seen a grand total of … * checking charts * ZERO DROPS. October doesn’t look so beautiful and dandy, does it?
We’ve only had three drops so far this month, from AO.com, BT, and Smyths Toys. We were hoping Very could join the peloton this morning, but that didn’t happen. There is still a chance for a restock tomorrow, so don’t give up hope! We’ll meet you all here tomorrow morning for a little more fun on inventory tracking. G’night for now.

PS5 “Deathloop” test
Did you manage to secure a PS5 from BT or Smyths Toys this week? Thanks for staying, we appreciate your company as much as we do ours. Anyway, now that you have one you have to totally play Death loop.
It’s already slated to be the Game of the Year for 2021, and for good reason too. “Death loop is a freestyle assassination game with a groundhog day time warping style mechanic, ”wrote our review. “Captivating, beautifully designed and full of character, Death loop is really the first big exclusive to the PS5.

PS5 digital vs disc
Retailers typically stock both the disc edition and digital edition consoles whenever there is a drop. But other than the price difference gulf, what else is different?
In fact, not much. The PS5 disc edition basically has a disc drive, which makes the machine slightly heavier and larger, while the digital edition is slightly more compact and doesn’t have an optical drive for Blu-Ray discs.
If you want more information on the differences between the two, read our explainer below:

Can you play PS4 games on PS5?
Yes, good friends, you can! The vast majority of PS4 games are playable on PS5, and sometimes you can even get a free PS5 upgrade to release your current PS4 games in 4K and HDR. All digital games purchased through the PlayStation Store will be playable on the next-gen console without any issues.
Obviously, if you have the digital edition PS5 console, you will not be able to play your PS4 discs on it. Basically because there is no disc drive on the device.

When was the last restocking of Asda PS5?
Asda had one last PS5 drop on September 27, so we don’t expect a restock for at least a few weeks. It’s probably one of the hardest retailers to get a console, with very little reward. The drops are usually very small, last a few minutes at best, and Asda’s website crashes frequently.
Deliveries are usually between 8am and 9am, but again, this is not a retailer we rely on if we were you.
