Post and NRB staff attack service users for complaining about delay in service | Malawi Nyassa Times
Praise-seeking Malawi Posts Corporation (MPC) and National Registration Bureau (NRB) agents exchanged fights with service users whose only crime was complaining about delays in starting operations at the center on Wednesday. .
The heavily charged officers verbally assaulted stranded national registration card applicants, who demanded clarification of the cause of the delays.
Stranded citizens waited until 9:18 a.m. before MPC staff opened the office, to which NRB also offers services.
Staff began to render services at 9:50 a.m. This did not please some Malawians who felt it was unfair to be held for three hours without being served.
And when the Nyasa Times reporter asked for an explanation of what caused the delay in opening the office, an MPC officer shouted at our reporter, daring him to go anywhere with his complaint.
” We do not care ! In fact, you can report to anyone, including Saulos Chilima. We are not going to serve you “, he contested before throwing the form to the journalist.
The NRB official, identified only as Shepherd, has vowed not to hand over the national registration card to Mzungu.
“Tell anyone, including Chakwera!” We are not afraid. We will not release your card. Mdzitipatsa oulému! instructed the shepherd.
But the Minister of Internal Security Richard Chimwendo Banda condemned the attitude of the NRB staff.
He vowed to investigate the matter, stressing that it is not in the government’s interest to make people wait for hours for services as this negatively affects the development of the country.
“This attitude of public officials must stop! We will investigate and take appropriate action, ”he said.
