Obsessed stalker faked photos of victim on sex sites
Distorted 56-year-old John Smith put the profiles on Fab Swingers and Fab Flirts and happily pretended to be the woman while exchanging intimate messages with other website users. Profiles falsely claimed she was bisexual and encouraged people to come and say ‘hello’, Wolverhampton Crown Court said.
As a result, the horrified victim was approached by a series of strangers at the supermarket where she was employed, prosecution Mr Oliver Woolhouse revealed.
One fake profile described the victim – now in her 30s – as a “submissive slut”, while others claimed she “looked for a lot of fun” and “was not innocent”.
They showed photos of her taken on other sites alongside fake porn photos simulated by Smith.
The couple met at a party 10 years ago and have exchanged occasional emails in which they have become increasingly familiar, prompting them to block him from his Facebook.
Smith continued to search the internet for up-to-date information about his life and used it to create and update the fake profiles that started on MSN Messenger, Google, and the dating site Tagged.
He then moved on to sexual contact sites, which resulted in her being approached for the first time at work by a stranger in September 2013. “He had clearly obtained details on his online profile because the stranger asked her if the word Fab meant anything to her, “Mr. Woolhouse observed.
In April 2014, another stranger came to see her at the supermarket and claimed to have chatted with her online the night before. It was Smith. Police opened an investigation and arrested Smith four months later.
He had found “an unusual satisfaction in living the fantasy of being this lady” after losing his marriage and his job, Thomas McGarvey said in defense.
Cumberland Road defendant Bilston, who had no previous convictions, admitted to being harassed between November 2012 and August 2014 and Judge John Wait told him: “You created a pornographic image of this woman with a way that would make people believe it was her. who wanted to present himself thus. “
Smith received a three-year community sentence under supervision and is scheduled to complete a community sex offender group work program. He was also given 240 hours of unpaid work at a cost of £ 1,200 and was banned from all contact with her for five years.
