Mojo Mortgages Appoints Mortgage Director
Online mortgage broker Mojo Mortgages has announced the appointment of Cassie Stephenson as the new director of mortgages as the company looks to expand its team to 50 mortgage advisers across the UK over the next 12 months.
The company, which has expanded its team during the pandemic, says it has seen unprecedented demand in recent months – driven by the need for a digitally-driven service as well as a booming real estate market, with the current holiday stamp duty playing a role.
Mojo, which now counts Uswitch, Zoopla and Snoop as digital partners, has seen partner mortgage applications increase 165% from pre-pandemic levels, with traffic and inquiries to its site also increasing. 200% increase. compared to early 2020.
Stephenson (pictured) joins Mojo after his stint with fellow online broker Habito as vice president of operations, as well as his previous stints at Atom Bank, Tesco Bank and Lloyds, and will be instrumental in helping evolve the broker over the next few months as a company returns to some normalcy.
Stephenson said, “I am delighted to join the Mojo team as the company enters its next stage of growth. It’s no secret that the past year has been tough, but the market seems to be gaining momentum with new government-backed programs, competitive rates among lenders, and a bustling real estate market. therefore an exciting time to join the team.
“Mojo already has a solid foundation, amazing systems and people – now is the time to take what we have and speed it up to make us the number one broker in the UK.
“No one has really perfected the end-to-end process for customers yet and there is still significant work to be done in this area. I also believe that open banking has not been used as much as it could be, with practices like paper document requests still in place that seem so outdated. There is more work to be done with lenders to enable automated submissions and fulfillment-only experiences and this is an area I will be working on closely in the coming months. It is certainly an exciting space to be in right now.
Richard Hayes, CEO and Co-Founder of Mojo Mortgages, added, “Cassie’s appointment will play a pivotal role in Mojo’s future as we continue to revolutionize the way consumers access mortgages, advice and finance. news in an industry that continues to baffle many people.
“We want to help clients fully understand the process and become more financially confident by letting them know more about mortgages and, of course, find the best deal for them. Not just for those who come to us, but across the industry.
“However, we need more talented people to join us. We are in a phase of hyper growth, which means we need even more motivated and proven mortgage experts to get on board. We have a number of fully remote roles available with more details on our website.
