Job: Lounge/Bar Manager at Alabaino Business Venture

We are looking for a committed and proactive Salon Manager who would like to work in an exciting and dynamic environment. The Bar Manager will promote and grow the business, hire and train servers, and ensure customers receive excellent drinks, food and service. You will also manage inventory and resources, schedule promotional events, ensure quality and safety checks are followed, maintain current licenses and update supplier contracts, create schedules and set business goals for increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. You must also be able to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations.

You must be observant and have the ability to think critically and effectively. You must be a skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving, observational and interpersonal skills.

Duties of the bar manager:

  • Manage the business aspects of the bar, such as maintaining a current liquor license, negotiating contracts with vendors, inventory and ordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
  • Training staff to provide excellent customer service.
  • Create efficient schedules and quickly resolve conflicts to ensure the bar is well staffed during peak hours.
  • Implementation and application of quality and safety controls.
  • Ensure that licenses are up-to-date and comply with applicable legislation.
  • Work with diverse personalities on both staff and clients.
  • Planning and participation in promotional events.
  • Diffuse tense situations between customers or staff members to prevent potential security or legal issues, expelling unruly people, if necessary.
  • Maintain a fun and safe atmosphere for customers.

Bar Manager Requirements:

  • Diploma/ND
  • Restaurant or management experience or further education is generally preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of business management and accounting principles.
  • Excellent computer, problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to defuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Willingness to work during peak hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
  • Decisiveness.
  • Ability to walk, stand and occasionally carry heavy objects in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
