How to make money on Instagram
Can you make money on Instagram? According to social media management platform Hootsuite, with over a billion active users at all times, there are plenty of opportunities to be gained.
With over 70% of users aged 35 or under, Instagram is an app for a generation used to shopping online, and users have plenty of options for doing so through the app.
Whether you have a business you want to promote or are looking for some extra income, there are plenty of ways to make money on Instagram. Let’s take a look at some of them.
Post sponsored content
Social media influencers are everywhere these days, and that includes Instagram. And while you might be more familiar with big-name stars with millions of followers as social influencers, the truth is, you don’t have to be that tall to attract brands.
If you have a decent number of followers and a high engagement rate (which means people engage with you, like and comment on your posts), your chances of making money on Instagram are pretty good.
Sponsored content is easy to produce. Just talk about a product, take a photo with it, and post a tag that connects users to the brand. The bigger your Instagram presence, the bigger the brands you’ll attract and the more money you’ll earn. Of course, you’ll have to start small, but it’s a good way to make money.
Join a specific company to become a brand ambassador
While Sponsored Posts are usually a one-off thing, Brand Ambassadors regularly promote a business.
Brand ambassadors don’t always get paid in real money. Instead, they could receive free products from a company in return for a review and promotion. Of course, if you have huge success, you could get both products and payment for your posts.
Earn affiliate commissions from sales
Affiliate marketers earn money when one of their subscribers clicks on a posted link and purchases a product. There is little work associated with affiliate marketing and no expense.
You don’t have to process orders or do anything except talk about a product you like and post a link (with a special code crediting you for sales) to get a fee for each sale. .
Sell your own products
If you are crafty or have a product (real or virtual) to sell, Instagram could help you make a lot of money. For products, you will do better with things that photograph well. Think about bags, clothes and dog supplies.
But you can also sell virtual products, such as downloads of templates or ebooks. Or if you have expertise in something, you can sell advice or counseling sessions.
Help brands sell more
If you prefer to work behind the scenes, you can make money on Instagram by helping other brands promote their products. This means that you are not using your own Instagram account or your face.
Instead, you can use all the marketing skills you already have to teach brands how to promote their own products. Or you can do it directly for them by writing or designing their articles to reach the right audience.
