As part of the increased security of G Suite applications, corporate customers can now administer them through Apple Business Manager, and for everyone, Gmail benefits from new authentication graphics to identify emails sent by brands and businesses.

In a series of security updates, including Apple Business Manager integration, Google has announced better administration and authentication tools. The most visible is the trial adoption of the BIMI Group system for integrating approved company logos into Gmail.

“Today, we’re excited to announce the pilot of another standard we’re working on: Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI),” Google said in a blog post. “[This] will allow organizations, which authenticate their emails using DMARC, to validate ownership of their company logos and securely transmit them to Google. “

“Once these authenticated emails have passed all of our other anti-abuse checks,” he continued, “Gmail will begin showing the logo in existing avatar slots in the Gmail user interface.”

For users, this means that when a company logo appears to the left of the subject line in a Gmail message, the email is certified as originating from that company.

“[Users] can have increased confidence in the source of the emails, ”Google continues,“ and senders will be able to leverage their trust in the brand and provide their customers with a more immersive experience. “

Google says the BIMI pilot will start “in the coming weeks with a limited number of senders.” He will work with the Entrust Datacard and DigiCert certification authorities.

As part of the same security announcement, Google also announced that corporate IT admins will now be able to install and manage G Suite apps using Apple Business Manager. This is an Apple tool to help administrative users manage hardware, software, and user accounts.

“The way we work is very different today than it was six months ago,” says Google, “and IT administrators are at the center of keeping their workforce online, productive and secure. “

“[We’re] the launch of our integration with Apple Business Manager (formerly DEP), “he continues,” to provide administrators with G Suite Enterprise, G Suite Enterprise Essentials, Cloud Identity Premium and G Suite Enterprise for Education the ability to distribute and easily manage and securely the company- owned Apple iOS devices. “

Google is also adding new anti-phishing features to its Chat service. The Google Meet video conferencing tool also benefits from new options to secure meetings against unwanted intrusions.
