Garth Brooks is moving forward with his new business venture. The Tennessian reported that the country singer plans to open a bar and entertainment venue in Nashville’s Lower Broadway neighborhood. Brooks confirmed the news on Tuesday and shared some details about what her new venture will look like.
Brooks provided a press release with details about his new bar. According to the singer, he purchased 411 Broadway, a three-story space where the former Downtown Sporting Club was located. Brooks is still working out location details. But, he currently envisions the venue to be “a classic honky-tonk that welcomes all, encourages love and kindness while playing the greatest music in the world in the house of country music.”
“We feel very lucky to have the chance to be part of the Lower Broad, which is arguably THE hottest spot in the country,” its statement continued. Brooks and his team will announce further details soon, including an opening date and additional concept information. The Tennessian noted that the singer purchased the property in December 2021 based on public documents. It sold for just under $48 million, more than $20 million more than the property priced in 2017.
Brooks will partner with Strategic Hospitality for this new venture. The company previously ran the Downtown Sporting Club. Benjamin and Max Goldberg, co-owners of Strategic Hospitality, released a statement on the news and expressed their excitement about working with Brooks. Their statement read, “Garth’s longstanding commitment to Nashville goes far beyond the music and has been so meaningful to our city. We couldn’t be more excited than to help bring his concept to fruition.”
Brooks isn’t the only country music scene taking over Nashville’s nightlife. In early 2022, Eric Church announced that he would be moving forward with the opening of an entertainment facility in the Lower Broadway area. He reportedly plans to open his as-yet-unnamed venue in 2023. Similarly, Miranda Lambert will also launch a business on Lower Broadway, as will Justin Timberlake and Guy Fieri. While Brooks is concentrating on a new business, he is still busy with touring. It was recently announced that he will be playing two shows at Nissan Stadium in April, per WSMV.
