About the College

RMC is an Anglican Residential College of Macquarie University in Sydney. RMC can accommodate approximately 300 undergraduate and postgraduate residents from over thirty-five different countries.

We are currently looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our team.

About the position

The primary duty of the Business Manager is to facilitate the work, growth, and ministry of the College. Reporting to the Master, the Business Manager is a member of the College’s management team and records the minutes of the RMC Board of Directors and 3 of its sub-committees.

The range of responsibilities includes preparing financial reports to assist management in making decisions; the preparation of the statutory annual accounts; make recommendations to the Master and the Board regarding cash flow management, cost control and revenue streams; report on the financial situation of the College; food service management; asset and property management; supervision of HR, WH&S and IT; real estate development management; and special projects. An experienced team consisting of the College Finance Manager, Head Chef and Facilities Manager provides support for this role.

About you

The Chargé d’Affaires must have:

  • a record of achievement in the business, commercial, charitable and/or educational sectors;
  • evidence of excellent analytical, financial, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • a demonstrated ability to lead, coach, delegate and encourage accountability while maintaining strict control; and
  • a clear personal commitment to fulfilling the Christian vision and mission of the College.

An appropriate higher qualification in finance/accounting is essential. Postgraduate degrees and membership in a professional accounting body are highly desirable. You will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and you will need to have or obtain a valid child labor certificate and national police check.
