Hey Hey It’s Saturday star Daryl Somers sued for libel after his former business manager publicly criticized him.

Alex Mathey claimed the three-time Gold Logie winner, 69, had treated him “appallingly” and “cruelly” throughout their working relationship, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Somers has since filed a “defamatory matter” claim for damages.

In addition to the libel lawsuit, Somers is seeking a permanent injunction against Mathey preventing him from “posting or republishing further” material relating to their former partnership.

The case has now reached the doors of the Supreme Court as Mathey goes public with his allegations regarding his alleged treatment by Somers.

It comes nearly a year after The Herald Sun first reported that a conflict had arisen between Somers and Mathey, who was “the group’s chief executive and legal counsel” to the artist and his wife, Julie da Costa, as well as their production company, Somers Group. Australia.

In June last year, court records revealed the extent of bitterness between Mathey and Somers, describing how the relationship turned into a “rather unpleasant dispute”.

Mathey asserted that Somers’ behavior was “in violation of particular laws and generally accepted norms and standards of acceptable and appropriate behavior and conduct.”

‘Despite my best efforts and intentions, the Somers [Daryl and his wife] have been reluctant and unable to even listen to and acknowledge my concerns, ”he alleged.
