Broke Hall Convenience to open post office in Ipswich
A post office is being restored in an Ipswich community after losing the previous one in 2017.
The Heath Road Post Office is set to reopen next month and will be an 11-minute walk from Broke Hall Convenience on 91-93 Penshurst Road, where it will be known as the Penshurst Road Post Office.
The former Heath News branch and newsagent at 3 Heath Road closed in June 2017 without warning and became a St Elizabeth Hospice store with a cafe and community center in March 2019.
Wendy Hamilton, Post Office Network Provision Manager, said: “We are delighted to restore a full time post office in this area of Ipswich as we know how important post services are to a community.”
The opening hours will be Monday to Sunday: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the opening is scheduled for Monday 23 August at 1 p.m.
La Poste wants to hear from the public, especially on accessibility, but stresses that there is a bus service and parking nearby.
